For Breianna Ehlen, DDS ’27, the School of Dentistry provided exactly what she needed: a strong education, close to home and rooted in clinical excellence.
“I am grateful for the growth and copious amount of wisdom I have received from attending the School of Dentistry,” she explained.
Of particular note for Ehlen were the clinical rotations through various disciplines. “Having the ability to treat and observe different patients within pediatrics, oral surgery, special healthcare needs, endodontics, periodontics and more has shown me how broad dentistry really is,” she explained. “Every rotation and shadowing opportunity has challenged me in different ways and helped me become a more well-rounded clinician.”
Ehlen will take that experience with her as she prepares for a future in general dentistry. “Throughout dental school, I have been able to develop a strong foundation in clinical skills and patient care,” she said. “The various experiences have taught me that growth develops through stepping out of my comfort zone, thinking critically, and trying new things. I feel reassured knowing that what I have learned here at the University of Minnesota will prepare me well for the next stages in my career.”
